This week I worked on creating a business online. This is something I have never done before and never thought I would do until now. I learned a lot about the web business world, including how to search for keywords on Google Ads and look for the probability that someone will look into your site and see the competition for the business you are going into. The example we learned from class was the chess and the snowboarding business. These two examples have very different levels of engagement and have very different competition within the market. This will relate to my business because some markets will be much easier to penetrate than others, but they also may have much more competition. A thought I had while using Google Ads was the way that it changes so much and is so hard to use for the first time. This got me into thinking about what I might do to become a better businesswoman and work with Google Ads more frequently to become better at it so that business won't be so hard to work with. Like using Google Ads, I'm sure there are other things I will need to learn to do that will be challenging. For example, finding a blog site was hard for me. I have no idea what that even means.

This week I learned that creating a hosting website is very important for an online business. I learned how to quantify them and what categories you can use to quantify them. One of these categories was compatibility with Google Ads. I used this category because I needed to make sure I would be able to connect the two for later assignments. Another thing that I learned was that there are so many different options when it comes to hosting sites. I also liked the project that we turned in this week. I found it interesting to use keywords and the number of clicks to calculate the probability of success in a spreadsheet. I found it very difficult for me to learn how to use Google Ads to find the clicks, but when I was able to figure it out, it was very beneficial for the understanding of the traffic a business gets. This week I will be working on using Google Ads and becoming more familiar with it so that it is easier for me to use later in the semester when I need to use it.

This week of class was very insightful for me. It took me quite a lot of trial and error to complete the spreadsheet work. I have very little experience using spreadsheets. This made it a very hard learning experience for me. But it was very interesting to learn to analyze business ideas and to look into the ideas for the businesses because sometimes the business ideas would be so different, and it seemed that they had nothing in common, so how could you compare them? Through the spreadsheet work we did, we were able to compare the ideas for the different businesses and quantify them to make the best decision for the group of people that would then start the business. This was helpful for me because now I will be able to quantify my ideas when it comes to choosing a business. This will help me to choose the best idea for myself and my abilities.

This week we talked about creating websites and using e-commerce, and the difference between an e-commerce website and a non-e-commerce website. For my business, I would need an e-commerce website. One thing that I thought was helpful to think about was the topic of taxes when it comes to e-commerce. Because if you buy a product from a website and it is shipped out of state, you have to consider taxes. The one thing that I never thought about was that it varies depending on the state. This is important to note so that you don't break the law, get your business shut down, and, in some cases, face legal action. This week's lesson helped me to know what kind of preparation I would need to have for my website to sell a product and ship the product to the customers. I also learned what is important when designing a website. For my product, specifically, the imagery will be one of the most important things to include. This will allow customers to see the product and get an accurate representation and understanding of what it will look like in person.
